Music production, at any level has an extremely long learning curve. There are hundreds of topics, technologies, software packages, techniques and sounds to explore. For someone just starting out, this can be extremely off putting and quite daunting. It takes many years of dedication and hard work for producers and engineers to get the best from what they use by learning alone. What is being offered here is very simple. Straight forward tutoring in music production for people who would like to start it. Whether you have been doing it a while and would like to pick up some tips on using a given software package or even if you know nothing about music, there is something to learn. Some of the questions that people ask are:
- What music production package should I purchase?
- What hardware do I need?
- Where do I start with samples?
- Do I need acoustic treatment?
To start a tutorial session with one of our producers, all you need to begin with, is a computer with soundcard and a pair of headphones or basic set of studio monitors (preferable). Ideally the computer would have a specification powerful enough to run audio applications and process samples. A midi keyboard is is desirable but is not essential. There are 3 packages tailored to suit different learning styles. All packages have no limitation on what is discussed or what is used during the tutorial. It is all down to the client and what they would like to learn and in what software they would like to be taught in. Cubase, Reason, FL Studio, Ableton and Logic are the 5 main contenders.
